Instagram and live videos

Nothingness is something I always found to be scary. Not long ago, absolute nothingness was finally made possible by Instagram. As many of you are probably aware, you can go live on Instagram without automatically having the resulting video saved at the end of the process.

Instagram notifies you on top live videos. A couple of days ago I let curiosity get the best of me and decided to have a look.
Ever since I am mesmerized, in shock to be more exact. Online presence as we now it has changed forever.
I am not going to talk about some porn actresses or sex workers showing a little skin (boobs and genitals) because it’s too obvious. It’s obvious they will reach tens of thousands of live views just by doing that. Ironically enough, they are the only ones actually doing something.
I was more intrigued and somehow scared by the ‘public figures’ and the ‘fashionistas’, reaching the same heights by doing nothing.

Lightly dressed, some in just swimming suits, these ‘ladies’ try to talk to their so called fan base about nothing.

While attempting to do that, as they also play with their hands, their hair, the camera, the number of viewers starts to increase beyond control. And so does the lude or almost pornographic comments one can imagine.

Hundreds if not thousands of people ‘encourage’ the fashionistas and the public figures to stop doing nothing and to start doing something: show boobs, spread legs, have sex, jump (not for joy but to bounce their boobs), perform lesbian acts, etc.
Any communication with the ‘fan’ base is literally buried in the most horrible comments a woman can endure. They are so many comments and all happens so fast you can’t even block them.

So, why endure?

Among them there was a naked woman, having her body painted. As she was reading these vicious comments she felt compelled to say that she holds a degree. Another, a cosplayer, said that she is not going to strip for the vicious hordes of perverts.
A Malaysian woman appalled by the comments she mentioned her boyfriend and her brother being in the same room but she continued to flick her hair in front of the camera.

I can’t stand misogyny. I always found objectifying women unacceptable and demeaning.

So, why endure? Someone with a message, someone doing something, might have a reason. On one hand, I strongly doubt that those will trigger such coments. On the other hand, they will never reach so many views because only the fashionista and her promise of nothingness will make it to the top. Instagram democratized reality shows and with it it proveed that we, as human beings, value nothingness above everything else.

Unfortunately, these women (like many others on mass-media), going live from their bedroom, don’t have any message nor they do something with their life worth sharing.

As an unwanted paradox, it pains me to say it, but these perverts, in their case, react in the only way possible when confronted with the absolute nothingness.

Toate textele si opiniile mele sunt pamflete si trebuiesc tratate ca atare. De asemenea niciun text nu trebuie tratat ca o generalizare. Eu sunt sigur ca exista si romani demni insa nu despre ei vorbesc eu.
