The debate over the “Jewish Question” and the Jewish residents’ right to citizenship soon lead to the genocide carried out in the lands of Romania as part of the Holocaust. The number of Romanians of jewish origins decreased through deportations (Holocaust related) and relocation (newly formed state of Israel) from approximatively 700.000 in 1930 to less than 4.000 in 2011.
